The Thaden School is located on a 30-acre campus in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas, and within walking distance from the town square. EDG was part of a nationally recognized multi-disciplinary team and was responsible for the civil engineering for the entire campus, utilities, and public improvements for the project.
The stormwater strategy was innovative and went above and beyond the standard requirement for stormwater management for water quantity and quality. The site design included an interconnected set of bioretention basins, permeable pavers, and native landscaping. This project was highly collaborative, with civil engineering and landscape architecture working together to create a beautiful, native, and sustainable campus. The finished product is definitely a testament to what true collaboration and sustainable design techniques can accomplish!
