HENDRIX CREEK PRESERVE

Client:
The Village at Hendrix
Release Date:
2011
See Live Project

This existing, degraded stream is a prime example of the mismanagement of stormwater due to development upstream. The goal was to recreate a balanced ecological system while developing a model for future stormwater management in urban areas.

This CORP of Engineers mitigated project provides habitat ladders for continuous movement of aquatic life, as well as riparian zones and deep water pockets. It serves an outdoor classroom for nearby students of Hendrix College and engineers of the Southwestern Energy company regarding restoration of our natural watersheds.

Situated alongside the Village at Hendrix development, this stream and wetland restoration will provide an ecological treasure for years to come for nearby residents.
