While working with Bora Architects, Ecological Design Group led the site design of this retrofitted arts center. The site became a direct reflection of the architecture while mitigating all stormwater within the landscape without losing valuable space.
Stormwater planters along with porous pavers and storm cell technology allows for the roof water to be held on site and released at a natural rate. The plant species with the majority selected from the Ozark Highland eco-region were placed in the appropriate locations limiting the need for supplemental irrigation. From the accessibility seamlessly integrated into the site, concrete formwork, custom benches constructed out of local black locust this site truly embodies a holistic approach to site design.
