Martin born and raised in the Arkansas Delta, immersed in a rich environment of culture and ecology. Martin’s education began in Ft. Collins Colorado and finished in Stillwater Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from Oklahoma State University in 1995. His professional career led him to the Hill Country of Texas in Austin and finally back home to Arkansas in 2001.
Experiences forged in the Arkansas Delta led to the founding of Ecological Design Group, Inc., along with his partner Tanner Weeks in 2008. While utilizing the fundamentals of ecology, EDG has become a pioneer for award-winning resilient design.
He helped ensure that this firm uses a holistic approach crafting adaptable environments and impactful experiences. Martin uses stormwater to initiate his designs while placing an emphasis on the integration of public spaces with the founding principles of ecology.

In 2015 Martin wrote an award-winning vision document for the revitalization of the Arkansas Delta through sustainable food systems, outdoor recreation, and eco-tourism. In 2020 EDG, Inc. created a non-profit studio DRIFT (Developing Rural Infrastructure for Tomorrow), adopting this vision as its mission. Martin and his wife, Kara, are active throughout the Delta promoting the importance of healthy living lifestyles, while also advocating locally grown regional sustainability.
