Born and raised in Little Rock, AR, Marret developed a love for nature early on, cofounding the “Tiger Trailblazers” club in high school to support trail conservation. He earned a degree in Biological Engineering with a minor in Mandarin from the University of Arkansas, driven by a passion for sustainable design. His studies took him abroad, including language immersion in China and a sustainability program in Belgium.
After college, Marret spent over a year traveling through 20+ countries, volunteering on farms, hostels, and conservation projects. Returning to Arkansas, he researched sustainable rice production with Dr. Benjamin Runkle before working as an environmental engineer for the Arkansas Department of Health. Seeking a role focused on ecological design, he joined EDG, drawn to its mission of sustainable, low-impact solutions. A dedicated rock climber, Marret’s adventures in the Ozark Highlands fuel his passion for environmental preservation.
