Although J.D. was born in Dallas and grew up in East Texas, he has always had familial roots in Arkansas. When he graduated high school, J.D. decided to pursue higher education at the University of Arkansas, where he obtained his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2013. Since graduating, J.D. has worn many hats throughout the course of his career, collecting experience in Environmental, Transportation, and Structural Engineering. Only a few years after he graduated, he obtained his Professional Engineering License in Arkansas.
"I am motivated by an intense desire to work on meaningful projects that improve my community and the living conditions of its inhabitants through sustainable design. EDG can seamlessly balance engineering responsibility at the highest level with beautiful and innovative landscape design in an unparalleled way."
J.D. lives in Little Rock with his wife, two dogs, and two cats. And while he enjoys hiking, camping, and river activities, his primary amusement is rock climbing. J.D. has been climbing for over a decade and, in 2023, joined the board of the Arkansas Climbers Coalition, a local non-profit organization, to secure public access to climbing areas. J.D.'s passion for the outdoors and Arkansas' natural wonders led him to join the EDG team.
