We’re proud to announce that Kate Hopkins is now a licensed Professional Engineer!
Kate recently passed the Professional Engineer (PE) exam, officially earning her license in Civil Engineering. Originally from Talala, Oklahoma, and a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation, Kate moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2017 to attend the University of Arkansas, where she earned her B.S. in Civil Engineering.
After graduating in 2021, she began her career in Dallas, focusing on city streetscape development. While this provided valuable insight into urban infrastructure, the constant concrete environment deepened her appreciation for Northwest Arkansas’ unique balance of urban life and natural access.
Kate returned to NWA in 2022 and joined EDG, where she contributes to innovative projects that integrate civil engineering with landscape architecture. She has a particular passion for infill development, transforming underutilized properties into vibrant, purposeful spaces.
Beyond her project work, Kate is committed to leadership and service in the profession and community. She serves as the Vice Chair on American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) Board of Directions, and she founded the Texas AISES Chapter in 2021 and the Northwest Arkansas Chapter in 2022. She also participates in Urban Land Institute and the American Society of Civil Engineers events throughout the year.
Now living in West Fork with her husband, Kate continues to champion thoughtful urban development, professional leadership, and community service. And on a personal note, she and her husband are excitedly preparing to welcome their first child this December.
Please join us in congratulating Kate on this exciting milestone in both her career and life!
