We’re proud to announce that Mary Nell Miskin is now a licensed Landscape Architect!
Mary Nell recently passed the Landscape Architect Registration Exam (LARE), officially earning her license as a Landscape Architect. A 2015 graduate of the University of Arkansas’ Landscape Architecture program, Mary Nell began her career in Houston before returning to Arkansas in 2019 and joining EDG. Since then, she has been an integral part of our landscape architecture team - leading projects, mentoring young designers, and sharing her passion for public space and place-making.
Mary Nell currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Arkansas Chapter of ASLA, where she’s taken on leadership roles as PR Committee Chair (2023) and Secretary (2024).
Her design philosophy is rooted in a deep love for the outdoors and a keen eye for detail. She was drawn to the artistic yet functional aspects of architecture. As an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hiking, climbing, and kayaking in college, the opportunity to create outdoor spaces for others to enjoy felt like a natural fit. Over time, she’s also come to appreciate the technical side of the profession and the small design details that bring spaces to life.
Mary Nell’s favorite project is the Pinnacle Mountain Visitor’s Center, a site that is personally and professionally meaningful. It’s where her husband proposed, and today, it’s a place her family frequently visits for hiking and play. It also marked the first project she both designed and saw built after returning to Arkansas. Seeing families enjoy and connect with a space she helped create stands out as one of the great joys of her career.
Outside of work, Mary Nell and her husband enjoy camping and exploring the Natural State with their two young boys.
Please join us in congratulating Mary Nell on this exciting milestone in her career!
