Matthews Park sits in the heart of the small close-knit agricultural community of Greenbrier Arkansas. A previous working pasture, the site lends itself to active usage at the western highway entry and passive usage to the east where a prairie landscape had overtaken the previous pasture land.
The eastern half of the site is surrounded by preserved lowland forests and wetlands creating a natural insulated field within. Working with the immense existing beauty of the site, EDG master planned Matthews Park to include a western active zone with a splash pad, playground, pavilion, sports fields, and skate park.
A central enlarged pond provides areas for both passive and active recreation with a shaded picnic lawn and fishing piers. The landscape includes miles of walking and running reails and a boardwalk system within as well.
